My Business Idea Bank
Last weekend, I went to the market to find sandals for my twin boys. I was so disappointed—there were only two ugly, imported designs, each costing ₦6,500.
I ended up going to a local shoemaker who made them high-quality leather sandals for just ₦3,500 a pair. This isn't a new problem; finding decent clothes and shoes for my boys is always a struggle.
This got me thinking: what if someone started a business selling custom-made baby boys sandals, (could add clothing later on) This could be a highly profitable venture with the right pricing and marketing strategy.
It could work in two phases:
Immediate Business Model: You start by partnering with local artisans. This could be done through pre-orders, where customers send in a design and you facilitate production and delivery, or through wholesale, where you create your own designs and supply them to retail shops.
Future Growth: The ultimate goal would be to own the full supply chain. This means eventually hiring your own shoemakers and designers to produce the items in-house, giving you complete control over quality and production.

Was at the salon some time ago getting a relaxer touch-up, and-of course-they told me to get under the hair dryer but I. HATE. THE. DRYER. The heat, the boredom, being trapped in one spot like a human rotisserie chicken. 😫 So I went for the hand dryer instead… but holding it forever? Exhausting!
Then I started thinking, "what if there was a rechargeable, wearable dryer cap"? Something you could just put on and move around freely while it works.
Game-changer or nah? Shoot me a message, I'll like to hear your thoughts!
What if we could sachetize health, education, and life insurance for low-income families in Nigeria?
I'm thinking of a solution that leverages traditional ajo and mobile money agents to allow families earning less than ₦100,000 monthly to save as little as ₦350 daily. That amounts to ₦10,500 monthly and ₦126,000 yearly, which is enough to cover a basic insurance premium for health, life, or education.
This idea falls under the social enterprise category but has two to three potential revenue models. While quite complex, it has the potential to change lives.
